Types of Functional Fitness Equipment


Fitness is an essential aspect that many people focus on these days. To stay fit is the mantra for most people who exercise regularly to ensure that they maintain a strong and healthy body. Cardio equipment helps people to do aerobic exercises and the following are types of cardio equipment commonly used:

  • Treadmill: The treadmill is a machine that enables one to move or run indoors. One can easily adjust the speed of the treadmill to exercise in a comfortable manner to work-out the entire body.
 Strength equipment: The strength machines enable one to build strength by harnessing the body gravity, body weight as well as the external weight. The strength equipment is of te following types:
  • Ankle weights: These are fit for strength exercises of the legs and the hips. These weights can be chosen as per ones needs and requirements.
  • Hand weights: Hand weights like dumb-bells can be used for strengthening the muscles of the arms. One can choose a weight according to one’s comfort level.
  • Resistance bands: These can be used for strength and resistance training of the entire body. The level of resistance can be chosen by the person exercising as per the needs and requirements.
