Strength Training Equipment

Dumb-bells are hand-held equipment that is inexpensive and versatile in the sense that one can use the dumb-bells of any weight one wants to. However, one needs to have proper training to use free-weights so that these can be effectively used.
  • Machines: Strength training machines can also be used very easily and effectively for building muscles. These machines are designed to suit specific muscle groups and therefore there can be a variety of such machines that can be made use of. For instance, cycles can be used to strengthen the leg muscles. One must however be properly trained to make use of these machines in the most effective manner so that the muscles are not adversely affected in any manner. Most strength training machines are expensive and also not portable.
  • Stability balls: Stability balls can be used to strengthen core muscles of the body. One can learn exercises that involve different body curves and rolls using different positions of the stability balls. One however needs to choose the right size of the stability balls to effectively use these for strength training. Also training is essential to know of the right amount of pressure that can be applied on these balls for effective strength training.
  • Exercise bands: Exercise bands are inexpensive as well as portable. These are elastic bands with different degrees of tension and allow one to build muscle endurance and strength by working the muscles against the tension. These bands can be used for different muscle groups.
  • Kettle-bells: This equipment is used for strength training of all muscle groups at the same time. Using a kettle-bell is high-intensity workout and involves full-range motion of the muscle groups. Using the kettle-bells requires stretching and enables one to develop body flexibility and muscle endurance.
